Melodyne Editor w/DNA

Postby Mathieu Benoit » Thu May 06, 2010 3:50 pm

I just upgraded last night, and I have a vocal session tonight. How much of a learning curve is it going to be to use Melodyne as a plugin compared to running through rewire like I used to do?

Also when I find the time, I'll let you guys know how well DNA works.

From memory, very little if any. The only thing I can think of is you can't control your transport from Melodyne. There are far more differences in the new version that surpass the changes you'll notice switching from rewire to plugin. I really like that I don't have to save two(or more) files with every session. Everything is saved within my DAW file.

I tried out DNA when it first came out, but it was so buggy and crash happy that I only used it for one song, and never really got a sense of it's capabilities. Hope you have better luck.

FWIW, I really don't care for the plugin format yet. I'm having a hard time getting adjusted to it. Are there non-plugin options?

Well if you upgraded to the editor version you could use it like you always have. Maybe I don't understand the question?

Oh so I don't have to use editor as a plugin, I can still use it rewire?
