MadeByMike: DreamBox (or, my latest GAS)

http://youtu.be/StiKvGUDSx0 - combines clones of an MXR Distortion II and an IC Big Muff for a Siamese Dream-era Smashing Pumpkins sound.

My ears aren't as trained as some of the people here, and I know that what you like is relative and all, but still: just curious to see what people think of this thing. I think it sounds too good to be true, so I just wanted some other opinions before adding this to my shopping list (you know if something's got me considering bucking my Boss tradition, it must be special!).

Well I'm not really a huge Big Muff fan, but it seems to do that thing fairly well. Hard to tell with a youtube video though.

I know what you mean; one of the charms of boutique is that you can't really hear it in your own signal chain until you actually own it. Will it sound just as good on the type of music I play? Actually, I think it'd be worth the risk to me just to hear how it sounds with an ebow :)
