Vibra-Slap

Postby Mathieu Benoit » Thu Jul 26, 2012 10:31 am

I need a vibra-slap for a tune I'm working on. I don't really want to buy a whole vibra-slap to record it the one time. So my question is... have any of you guys recorded one before? Do you have a sample of one kicking around?

Help a brother out... ;-)

I've got a few samples, none of which I'm crazy about but they might work in a mix. I put them in the dropbox.

Thank you...!!!! :-D

It's not a for a vibra-slap solo or anything so it should work. Are they nice and long?

I'm pretty sure I have some decent samples, but am not anywhere near my place for a bit to see. How soon do you need it?

...and what makes you think if you actually bought one that it would only get used the one time? Once you have one laying around.... everyone will want to use it!

The longest one is 11 seconds, but it's also the worst sounding one. Most of them are 2-5 seconds. I've successfully looped/edited/stretched these samples to feel much longer though.

Which is kinda long even for one of those!

Yeah, I would think that, in a mix, three seconds of vibra-slap would do the trick.

The short one was the best, thanks again Andrew!

...and whaddya know... I finally found a use for panning something just right of center.

Yeah that's the one I've used in the past. I think the others are Logic samples but I"m honestly not sure how I came across those.
