I remember one project that I helped out on at Fluid where Melodyne was pushed to the very edge of it's capabilities. Every note had to be checked, and manually corrected, as the pitch on the performance was so bad. The whole project really taught me how important it is to maintain your professionalism and composure during a session regardless of the quality of the "artist". I remember thinking smoke was going to start pouring out of the back of the PC from the unholy amount of pitch correction we were using.

Dude, that was soooo the session I was talking about!!!

We earned our Melodyne wings that weekend. I've bumped into the client a handful of times since... lol It took everything we had to keep our composure as these songs were massacred. The end product still sounded like I sub-par vocalist, however an in-tune sub-par vocalist. Ah!!!! That session broke my brain!
