Fun with digital consoles... Salty Jam edition

Postby Malcolm Boyce » Mon Jul 17, 2006 1:44 pm

So, Colin James Sat. night in the big tent. His FOH guy, Mike, had the DDA CS8 all to himself as I was mixing the rest of the acts on the tt24 Mackie. All that was in the rack for the DDA for FX was a pair of SPX900s. I could tell he was less than thrilled about how he was going to get an effect delay set up with that little for processing. He then jokes that I'm fine with my digital console with all the bells and whistles..... and then I say wellllllllllllllll.

When he's mixing, all the Mackie is, is just a big FX box waiting to be had, so I set up a loop to and from the tt24, set up his delay, recall the setup for his set, and presto! Problem solved...

Mackie tt24, not just a console... :-)
