So at this point.... my brain feels broken. I never want top hear the words Idol again. EVER. I'm not planning on being around next summer, but I wouldn't do this again if you paid me to.

I'm taking tonight off. Relaxing..going to see Telfer, getting a couple of drinks into me. Hopefully when I wake up rested I won't hate everything quite so much.

SJ Idol is down to Steve and Paula.

Steve is an entertainer, but not a singer so this could get really interesting for me production-wise. Paula is a singer but she's gonna have to learn to take direction, I'm not writing a musical. This is gonna be interesting.

Alpine Country Star is down to Mary Beth and April.

I'm surprised to find myself way more excited about Country Star than SJ Idol. Of course everyone knows I think the world of Mary Beth (she's stunning) but over the past little while April's really grown on me too. I have some killer songs ready for each of them, and it's anyones game right now. This is gonna be awesome!

I have to admit, I'm more interested to hear what comes of this recording wise, as opposed to giving a care about the contest(s) itself.

Keep us posted.

Trick question: Who from Fluid Audio Group was on the radio this morning?

Well I only heard the first half of the interview, so I heard you Matt. I heard Al's name mentioned, but didn't actually hear his voice.

It's funny... I don't think mom could have even told us apart.

So did Al talk later on? Do you guys supposedly sound really alike. Not trying to be a pain in the ass.... I'm just a little confused.

I did hear about my "awesomeness". Better watch out, my head might be too big to fit through the studio door next time.

By the by, Jef took in a little bit of the sessions. I was quite busy, so I never got to chat really at all. What did you think Jef?

On the phone mom can't tell apart the 3 brothers. I just wondered if that was the same on the radio. Since I didn't really introduce myself.

You've got fairly different voices. You're a good 1/4-1/2 octave lower that Al, and you both have completely different diction.

Next time you call Alain's cell I'll pick up and we'll see how sure you are of that...lol

I'll take that challenge, as long as you don't try to sound like Al, and talk like your normal self. You can sound like him if you try. Time how long it takes me to figure it out. It won't be by "hello", but I'm guessing I'll figure it out on my own.

I was only able to stop in for a short visit but I think I came along about the right time to witness some really cool stuff. The session guys on this project were definitely the right choice for the job. I arrived during the bed-tracks session just a couple of takes before they found that 'perfect' tempo. And then, when they did, it seemed to slide right into that comfortable pocket where everything magically tightens up to what seemed so obvious (after you hear it).
Over all, I was really impressed with how well everyone seemed to 'click' when it came to brainstorming over the details and coming up with ideas for this song. It was truly a collaboration on everyones part and everyone's ideas were heard and discussed. Of course, the producer(s) have the final say (always), but I like the idea that they were open to explore many other options.
I would have really liked to come back up again for the mix-down but I had other commitments.
