I know about it, but I can't participate at this time. Too bad, your band is one member short of a full group. Everyone else has 4 people.

Essentially Andrew, a number of musicians registered last Sunday at the Blue Olive and from them bands were formed and they have a week to put a show together and they perform next Sunday to a live audience that will vote thier favorite. There are more details that I'm missing but that's the general idea.

Yeah what Matt said. You have a week to write and rehearse a set's wroth of original material with people you've probably never played with before. In my case, I am paired up with electronic musician Christian LeBlanc and jazz pianist Peter McDonald. I couldn't be more excited to work with these fine gentlemen. Our first jam is tonight but we have been throwing back and forth ideas since Monday morning.

That sounds super fun! If I wasn't so crazy busy this week, I'd drive to Saint John to participate in that. That is assuming of course that talent isn't required to be a part of the festivities.

That's just it, I'm so busy until the Paul Grady session in August that I just don't have the time. I really wanted to participate in this....

Paul Grady eh? Sweet!

I hear ya's lads, I was worried (still am) about my availability. Not only am I getting married in three weeks but I had a jam last night, a rehearsal on Thursday, a whopping THREE shows on Friday and I have my little girl all weekend. Wohoo! We're bound for failure.

Clinton and Peter each count as 1.5 musicians, so we're good.

I'm glad we could all avoid genitalia jokes ("check out the size of my band member!" etc etc).

It's funny you guys are actually very much alike. His preproduction suggestions read very much like a Clinton Charlton desert island disc.

I had a Paul grady disc way back in the day, I quite enjoyed it.

What do you mean about his pre-production ideas? He likes it loosey-goosey and appreciates vintage acoustic guitars?

Hey now... keep that kind of talk in Andrew's forum. The coffee shop certainly isn't the place to discuss carrots.

Sunday night: going great!
Monday night: I wrote 2 more demos, for 3 total. Clinton and Peter each wrote, as well.
Tuesday night, first meeting: We have lots of work to do! :-|
What's there is sounding pretty great, though!

I really wished I'd have had the time to dedicate to this, it really seems like a lot of fun.
