Project Pace

Postby Malcolm Boyce » Tue Sep 05, 2006 11:36 pm

I just finished mixing a project, recorded at another facility, and the artist seemed to be anxious/embarassed by the length of time, approx two years, to get the recording finished. This was a "studio" type of project with different players etc. on a "solo" album, not a band.

I made a strong point of saying that for "part time" musicians working on recordings, taking a couple years is probably the norm not the exception, especially first projects, which this was for this artist. That's part of the beauty of becoming "pro" or full time, is being able to dedicate time, resources, concentration, that you can't when working on music part time.
