What is the Saint John Playlist?
The Saint John Playlist is a countdown of Saint John’s greatest all-time songs. For the next six weeks people can vote for the best Saint John songs ever written. You can vote for up to ten songs; the songs must be from different artists, and must be listed in order from 1 to 10 in order to properly tabulate the votes. Once all votes are cast, the fine folks at Giraffecycle will tabulate results.

How will the top songs be revealed?
The top twenty songs will be performed by an all-star cast at The Blue Olive in late 2010-early 2011. Dates and band members will be announced at a future date.

How can I vote?
Send your top songs (in order) to saintjohnplaylist@gmail.com. Deadline for submissions is November 20. Start voting now!

Chuck, are you going to list all the nominations, as well? It'd be fun to see the complete list when all is said and done (and maybe unearth some hidden gems that aren't that common knowledge; I know there'll probably be a lot of 'only 1 vote's that I'd be more curious to look into).

There are 100 songs nominated? Geez... How many people are participating in the voting so far?

I've got around 20 submissions so far, and a lot of people currently working on their list. I am still trying to piece mine together from my 300+ local CDs and tapes. It's proving difficult thus far.

I'll put some time aside in the next few weeks to try to give it an honest effort.

I didn't feel qualified to write a list because I only own a half dozen or so cds by local musicians, & have only been to one show that didn't have me playing in it.

I'll try to cobble something together. I used to listen to local Myspace pages a lot before Myspace became the slowest thing in the world. More people need to get on Soundcloud or Bandcamp.
