Allan was predeceased by his grandparents Mabel and Stanley Cannon, and Alexander and Vera Smith. Relatives and friends, especially his musical family and friends, are invited to join the family in a celebration of Allan's life, which will be held as a reception on Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 2 to 4 PM at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). I heard about this later that day. Such a shock. My thoughts go out to his family.

I worked with Al a week ago.

He was a memorable character.

Things like this make me feel my age.

All of the above! This has prompted me to consider my own mortality.
