Never heard of them but I doubt that most stick manufacturers go through this much trouble to make a pair of sticks.

Hey, isn't that an SM57 in their testing lab? :-D

I think a lot of engineering goes into sticks of a lot of the manufacturers nowadays. I remember things being far more hit and miss quality wise years ago.

Dunno. Good question. I've been buying Vater for the better part of 20 years. The consistency is unreal compared to when I first started playing drums.

I would bet Calato, Zildjian, and other major stick manufacturers are working on details far beyond a guy with a tree and a lathe.
