My Ongoing project...

Postby Jef » Wed Feb 14, 2007 12:37 am

I thought I might as well start a new thread on this topic.
I have taken the advice I recieved here on the forum and put it to some practical use. I've done a bit of a re-mix on the 'Sedition' tune and I'm posting it here to see if I'm heading in the right direction with this.

From before, here is my first mix (I'll call it 'mix - A)

...and here's what I've last done to it. (..yup... mix - B)

Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
...Jef...

It's 7:07 a.m., I just got up after and am running late after putting in another 14 hour day. I'll give it a critical listen (with my ears? ) tonight and report back.

Definitely heading in a very positive direction. I can feel the kick, you've brought the beater out...
Essentially you've reconstructed the whole bottom end. The bass now has more room.
More definition overall...

You probably did a lot more than that, but if it's in the upper frequencies, well....you know...

Yeah, I gave a listen to the drum sound in the sample tunes you sent me (killer drum sound btw). Did a lot of work on the drum tracks and especially the kick drums. I probably got them a little too loud in the mix now but you can hear the (slight) improvement in the tone of them. Still need to do some work with Scotty's vocals.
I'll tweak it some more and post something when I get it done.
Thanks for your comments.

*tip* You can have both links open at the same time and switch back and forth between them muting one out and then the other to do some real time A, B comparisons.
