Anyone have a good source on Public Domain laws in Canada? All of the sources I'm finding are american. Thanks!

Thanks. I should have clarified that I'm looking specifically for public domain when it comes to music. A client wants me to write a new arrangement of a classical piece from the early 1800s and I want to make certain of the law on this.

50 years past composers death. As long as you're creating the new arrangement from scratch. If you're using an arrangement from someone else to base yours on, you can't use that arrangement until the arranger has been dead for 50 years.
