Turntable Parts Online

Postby gamblor » Tue Apr 26, 2011 12:52 pm

I’m looking to revive a friend’s turntable. The only problem appears to be that the belt was broken. I tried contacting Munro about ordering a replacement, but we could not find any info online regarding the belt specs so there wasn’t much we could do. As for bringing the belt in and physically comparing it to their stock, it was far too broken to be able to do that. It was shattered and deformed in several places.

I’ve noticed that there are several websites online that allow you to order replacement parts for vintage electronics based on model number. Would any of you trust these web pages? Have any of you ordered replacement parts for turntables from one of these websites? Any recommendations for which one to order from?

Thanks

Haven't ordered parts for turntables in a long long time, but when I did, it was always direct from the manufacturer. What's the make and model?

I was reminded of this old thread...

It is a technics SL-3. I see in that thread you linked, thom recommended a belt type without even knowing the make & model. Is it really as simple as strapping a belt onto in and walking away?

I remember him saying the overwhelming majority were the same.

Go see Roger or Bob at Munro's and ask for the one in the aforementioned thread.
