The other place I hang my hat in now has their own scotch thread. Way more entertaining though...

Holy crap that's entertaining! I need to get to a MMRS someday, for the drink if nothing else. On another note, I'm a bit disappointed in the Glenmorangie I bought. Thought I'd give them another chance, but I think it's their last.

...but I did have a lovely Lagavulin 16 on New Years. I just can't stand paying bar prices for Scotch, so it's pretty rare except for special occasions. I was really disappointed I missed the whiskey festival here in Fredericton this year though.

I'll go with you and split the expenses. I think it would be well worth the trip.

BTW there's no "e" in whisky apparently.

Yeah I know, but that's the spell checker. Whiskey is actually the Irish/American spelling, while Whisky is British/Scotch. If you look at a bottle of Jamesons it has an e.

I bought a bottle at duty free on the way home. Just a relatively inexpensive bottle of Hennessy, but it's quite tasty.

Jon Goud's in town for a session this weekend... I wish you weren't busy, we'd be drinking.

No, he quit music. He's working at a laser tag place and hasn't picked up his bass in a while. This session is to try to get him back into it a bit. I'm gonna show him all the cool music he has played on in the past 2 years that hasn't been released yet (that should help too...) Which is why I think scotch is in order!

Nope... I went through the same thing in 2002-2003. He was actually the reason I got back into music in 2003. He's going through the same kind of episode, he'll come around though.

So first scotch/cigar on the patio on the year. Absolutely stunning. This Bruichladdich is unbelievable. Easily the best scotch I've ever tried under $75. Probably under $100.

Can't complain. Not very often I get to just lay around and have a drink. Wife's in Toronto for a girls/spa weekend. This is my idea of a "spa" weekend.
