Well as someone explained it to me . Matter cannot travel faster than the speed of light . But i've heard that energie ,pure energie, can go 2-3 times faster than light.
I belive this was discoverd at the university of moncton a couple years ago. Im not 100 percent shure .

Sounds travels at roughly a foot per second, light travels at roughly the speed of light. Which one do you think is faster?

Not to jump all over you Al because I know you were just being snarky, but sound actually travels at roughly 1129 feet/sec at 21 deg.Celcius at sea level.
And yes light travels at the speed of light (roughly 300,000,000 m/s) Which i just found out is almost a foot/ nanosecond (which works out to roughly 983,571,056,160 f/s)

Damn i'm such a geek.

Well according to C. V. R. Thompson: Washington is the only place where sound travels faster than light.

Delay line sales must not be real hot in D.C. then.
