RHCP at the SportsBowl

We don't really need to get into this much, I think. I'm only curious about one thing.
Many defenses I've read of the halftime performance being played to tracks were along the lines of "there was no way they could set up, sound-check, and tear down in such a short amount of time."
And yet, elsewhere in the world of sports, it turns out that a pit crew can change all 4 tires of a car in less than 30 seconds.
What do you guys think? With weeks of preparation for such a large event, could the halftime show have been live, if the powers that be really wanted that to happen?
