Hey Tom, did the Centre fArts & technology ever release a CD for
the maritime grown contest that they held a couple of years ago?

Actually, your mentioning of it is the first time I ever heard about it. Could you tell me more about it? I'll ask around to find out more about it. Then I'll get back to you, and let you know. Peace out.

The had a contest called the Maritime Grown Band contest.
I had a song that placed in the top 10.
They had a night scheduled in Freddy for the winners to play
and I'm guessing the CD to be released but I never heard anything
else about it, can't find any info on the net. The first place winner
was a band called Rudy. I think it all took place in the summer/fall
of 2004.

Okay, so here's the dealy with the Maratime Grown Record release you were asking about. Now remember I am a third party, and I have no idea or any other involvement with this issue. I am just acting as the middle form of communication.

So I spoke with my audio engineering instructor about the situation. Apparently the CD was released on the Halifax Campus a year and a half ago. They have been available since then and are used as a promotional tool for the artists and the school. The discs, if you are need of one are still available.

Call the Fredericton campus at 506-460-1280, and speak to Michele Wilby. If you were in the top ten, your tune should be on there. So ask Michele about it, and she shold have a copy or 2 for you. I don't believe the CD is released, as a normal profitable release, like a band would do with a new LP, or album. It's the policy of the school not to take business away from existing sound engineers or recording studios. So the release of the album may have been used solely as a promo tool.

I was wondering, who are you, and what band did you work with at the time if the release? Sorry if I should know, but I don't recognize your handle.

So that's that. I hope I helped you out. Good luck with it.

Burnsy.

Yeah, Scott. That's me.
I sure hope they didn't include that mix of my song on that CD.

Haha. Thanks Scott. You are a good bass player, by the way. As far as the other stuff, well, that ain't for me to determine. You took the time and energy to jam with me, so that's cool enough in my books.

Peace
