I bought an amplifier

A Yorkville 50K

Pictuered you see the "wedge" version of the amplifier that I bought. Mine stands upright. Same amp, different box.

This is marketed as a keyboard amplifier. I'm using it with my guitar which I plug into a digital preamp/processor/multi-effects.
Thus far, I am happy with it. Modulation, delay and reverb effects are much more present and clean sounding.
All my old presets are way too bright and sizzly due to the fidelity/full-range-ness of the Y50K.
Something I really dig is that non-traditional/direct-type guitar sounds are possible in a way that they
aren't when playing through a guitar amp/cabinet. I want to get into midi/synth guitar and I bet this
amp will be good for that. If I am triggering a kazoo patch, I don't want it to sound like a kazoo played
through a guitar amp.
Also, it cranks.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeet.............. As we discussed, I believe you are right in your assessment of processing and it's replication through the schpeaker...

Now playing live through a proper PA, you'll be one of those guys going direct, with a cab just for monitoring.

Glad you like the amp Scott, but guitar direct from processor to PA? Blah...
Gimme a limited bandwidth speaker, a noisy amp, and a 57.

Some folks like nothing but a cable between their guitar and a hot tube amp.... Scott isn't one of them. :-D

Somebody told me a story once, I think it was about Geddy Lee. He was musing that the venue of the future
would have headphones at every seat. Death of the PA, as we know it.
Although, I think we need to replace headphones with in-ears so people can get their groove-on, unfettered.
Also, keyboard amps are built to handle low-end abuse, so I can play bass through my new amp,
(through a processor, of course).

Actually that was Joe Satriani who said that and I'm also willing to bet that that story was told to you by Dean, he's told me it at least twice.

Satriani recorded and album not too long ago using not a single mic, this was an instrumental of course.
