Auto Maintenance

Postby Mathieu Benoit » Thu Feb 26, 2009 10:08 am

So in the spring time I'm gonna be putting some maintenance into my car, (a couple of console lights have developed over the winter). Also I have some small dings I wanna get hammered out. It's an '03 Alero, with just under 100K on it. So it's time that it got a good once over.

Any suggestions as to where I go? Since all my warrantees are up, and Brett's service deptartment is absolutely on crack as best as I can tell from having gone there since I've had my car. I'm open to some options. I'm looking for Telus-style service out of a mechanic... Am I asking for too much?

Main St Auto is great. However they're in Sussex, which would be at least somewhat inconvenient. And they don't do body work. I also have a couple of places here in Fredericton, but I never had any great car experiences in Saint John. A few terrible ones, but no great ones.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I'm not past going for an hour drive to get great auto service....

I have heard great things about Personal tire & auto on Rothesay Ave. though. Anyone else hear about them?

If I took my GM to a Nissan service shop enough times do you think they could beat the GM out of it? That would be sweet... :-o

Fine he doesn't exist.

Back on topic. I know that you rave about Coyle Nissan's service dept., do you recommend that I take my GM piece o crap there? Will they laugh at it and insult it in japanese? Basically, do they get many GMs over there, or doesn't even matter?

Dont matter they fix other makes because people are displeased with their own dealer service.
Ask for Brent, otherwise known as dorkface.

No. They have nothing to do with one another at that point.

Booked my appointment this afternoon with Coyle Nissan's service department. I've been trying to book since yesterday morning, but I've been getting voicemail and no call back. Anyhoot, the guy was super nice and seemed to knwo his shit unlike the string of BS converations I've had with the fine folks at Brett's.

Appointment is set for next Tuesday. :-D
