Yeah.. somehow I had it worked out in my head that the independant headphone mixes and the TB mic were all heading down the same pipe. This way makes way more sense.

Hmm.... having all of the OS sounds and other stuff going through a soundcard that is not my fireface? I do like the sounds of this! It's good to know that I can keep on making tweaks and improvements to my system, to facilitate the overall experience of recording.

I'll think about it, Sub probably has a pile of those kinds of sound cards kicking around.

My two cents anyways.

That scenario gets Krusty's seal of approval, but who gives a bleepin' fuck what I think. Anyhow?

So, about the speaker outs...

I want to use outputs A as my nearfield outputs, outputs B as my mains, and C for my subwoofer. Since currently I'm using the crossover in my subwoofer to drive my nearfields, I'm just not sure how I'm going to do this properly. Any suggestions? I want the option of using both NF and Mains with and without subwoofer, without any problems.

PS - Andrew, how is your rig set up?

A bit of a conundrum for sure. I have my midfields full range, so when the sub kicks in, there's gob's of bass, and I have the nearfields rolled off a bit, so when the sub is off they're a little thin. It's a bit of a compromise, but there isn't another way to have to sub available for both sets of speakers.

In that case I may as well just continue to use the nearfields coupled with the subwoofer as I have been. Thanks!

Are you using the crossover in the subwoofer? If not, you could arrange a footswitch to power the sub on and off when you need it. Then you could at least use your nearfields with and without subs. I find using a sub all the time, can be odd when mixing.

Yeah I use the crossover in the sub, so I'll likely continue to do so. I have the the sub level set quite low so it doesn't really interfere with anything.

The fact that he should be and was using the X-Over in the sub was and is the issue with the desired setup.
