You want the original old-timey Kluson style?

Just how old is this guitar?
I think 'tuning pegs' were upgraded to machine heads a long time ago.
Although, violins, cellos, etc. still use 'tuning pegs'.

First things first....

BWAHAHAHHAAHHA....

Okay....
Is this a vintage goldtop, or a new replica? This is going to affect your choices, or at least your decisions.

It is a Les Paul Deluxe, 70's vintage with DiMarzio soapbar pickups.[/quote]

Thom, I would also like to get a "hot" pick-up for the bridge position of my Strat. Any suggestions?

Sweet...let me look for appropriate tuners.

Pickups are such a personal choice, it's hard to really suggest.....all Ican advise is listen to the sounds you like, and find out what PUP's were being used.
Personally, I've gone back to the vintage AlNiCo pickups, and I let the amp do the gain work...
Might want to ask SammyP as I believe he has tried a vast number of PuP's over the years...

I like the Grover Deluxe Keystones, with the nickel baseplate. Item #3754.

Those would be appropriate for the instrument.

Do you need to order those, or can I just order them from that sight?

You can order then directly from Stew-Mac. It'll be faster and cheaper for you.
