Any of you guys involved in the Harbour View High Auditorium installation want to post some details of the gear and work done there? I was in there late last week, and didn't have time to look closely at anything, but most everything appeared to be done.

Jenn was telling me that HVHS spent about $100,000 for a new setup in their auditorium, that's all I know.

I doubt it's that high but still the Electrical Contractor's bill alone would be substantial.

I had roughly estimated 20k for that alone. Gear was around 50k or so.

I digress....................

I've seen several decent High School Theatre installs come in between $30-50K, not including electrical.

Did the bill for the power upgrade come out of the project budget, or did the district/PNB pony up the money as a facility improvement?

Just curious, as I've seen it done both ways.

Every Monday, Jenn and the principal have lunch hour duty together, where they circle the school grounds, looking for kids getting themselves in trouble. Every Monday they chat about things, personal, scholastic, professional, and the weather as well, I'm sure. Last Monday Jenn informed me that Dave, the principal came to her directly, to tell me that they had spent $100,000 for a new system for their auditorium. I asked Jenn what type of gear, all she new was that they got a nice new soundboard, or in her words, "the long thingy with the knobs and slidey things." Sorry she's no tech. Anyways, $100,000 is what I was told, and I'm sure that covered, as you had menbtioned, labour for electricians, and whoever else they had in there for work.

What really impresses me, is that the government ok'd the school for that amount. HVHS has come a long way. Good for them is all I have to say. Hopefully we'll see you there soon Malcolm.

I'm actually there in October for the production of "A Chorus Line"...

I auditioned the part of "Flance the flamboyant well-wisher" but the bastards wouldn't write the character into the script.
