Hi Erin! I share some of your bandmates. Their talent dwarfs mine, but noone gives me a hard time about it, so yeah! Welcome to the forums here! There's a lot of recording talent around, at all skill levels.

Hey Erin, I'm very happy to find you here. I love you in Penny Blacks (I just plain love Penny Blacks) and you're pretty awesome in general.

What's this new project you are working on? I'm definitely interested!

Thanks for the welcome guys. Christian, I'm right there with you. Incredibly talented group of people in Penny Blacks that I am very lucky to work with.

Matt, my new project is called Rib, and has Dawn Collins on vocals, and Nawal Doucette on cello (sometimes bass, sometimes bazouki, she's a talented girl), and myself on cello. So far we have 4 original tunes, and some more in the works. We're going to be throwing a few covers into the set list, including some John Prine, Loretta Lynn, and Megadeth. I'll be throwing a little distortion on the electric cello in at least a few of the tunes :).

Man oh man... If you weren't married and all... ;-)

That sounds awesome, though. I'll be at the first show!

I have a bouzouki myself that I picked up when I went to Greece. You definetly don't see too many people in the west with one of these, and i'm not even a part of the handful that can actually half decently play one!
That's awesome in my books, I'll have to check you guys out.

Hi dude and dudettes,

My name is Dave Mazerolle. I have been playing guitar since I was 5, and formed a band with a guy named Eric Carr when we were 9 years old. I've always done the opposite of what what my dad says "normal boys" should do. I studied gymnastics for 14 years and hate hockey. I joined a cheerleading team in high school, and drove a motor scooter for 3 years without any interest for having a car.

I have been making noises with my voice and mouth all my life, according to my parents. When I was 14, I started turning those noises into percusion instruments and I am the only one I really know in Saint john that performs as a "beatboxer". The name "Cubical" is my beatboxer alius, given to me from a rapper that I used to make beats for when I started beatboxing. I want to Tattoo the name on my forearm someday soon. I taught myself to drum when I was 17 using the beatbox. I play drums for Mazord, beatbox and play bass in a band called Curbside Prawjek. I also played drums for Cherry, Dmitri, a brief stint with Hospital Grade, and my new 3 piece band called the Nephilim which will be performing soon.

I work at the Regional Hospital as a Registerd Nurse (RN) and I frequently beatbox for my patients that request it, especially if it wil coax them to take their pills :-). My fiancee, Farrah is also a nurse that I have been together with since we began nursing school and graduated together last year. We even work on the same medical unit :-|. We just bought our first home in Red Head, and I was allowed to build a small practice studio downstairs. Since then I have been buying all things musical left, right, and center.

I love nursing, but I am hoping to make a living with music someday. I have 2 cats, and a dog, a neighbor that gets us both drunk quite regularly, and I love to have random people jamming at my house. Matt Benoit told me to come here, I have not closed my internet browser page since I joined this forum. Finally, I have been home off work for 2 months with multiple broken ribs after falling in the bathub the day before my birthday, and i have to go back to work on Feb. 4th. I still had time to record and mix a small, solo EP soon to come out under the name "Meatgrinder", entitled "Beyond our years". I would describe it as a 3-way fist fight between the Deftones, Mastadon, and the Foo Fighters (stylistically speaking).

Thanks. Been meaning to join for a while, actually, just never got around to it. Figure this might be a good place for me to go on long meandering rants about audio production.

Hi, my name is Becca Raynes and I'm a singer. I found this place through Matt Benoit, we used to work on my music together. I sometimes work at Fluid Audio Group as a runner. I just love watching the whole recording process, it's so interesting to see how records get made. I lurk on here from time to time but figured I should start trying to post a bit.... so here I am!

It's really interesting just to take the time and look back to where everyone was when they first joined.
I mean, a lot of time has gone by. Reading my own posts I can hardly remember when the band I play in was a 4-piece, yet there I am posting about it.

Hi All, I'm Dennis.

For many years, I've played guitar badly.
I then switched to bass because I played it not quite as bad as guitar.
I've decided over the last few years that I'd try my hand at sing after
being inspired by people who were much worse than me and people dug it
(The Pogues come to mind.. great band tho).
Learning basic drumming on my yamaha dtxplorer kit and a few chords on
keyboard here and there.

I've always been a computer geek; Windows3.1 to present, Mac OS 8 to present,
Linux starting with RedHat 7, SlackWare, Suse, Mandrake and many many other
variants, FreeBSD (before Mac OS bough their code) and Solaris Unix.

I work for Xerox in a computer playground. My job used to be super cool, now not so much.
I have played bass in lots of cover bands in the SJ area and have played bass on a number of
recordings
I am a hobbyist photographer, kayaker, mountain biker, carpenter and graphic designer.
Too many hobbies, not enough time.

I drive an old pickup truck and I like it that way.

I can eat nachos and salsa until I am no longer able to move.... really.
I drink coffee.
I like beer.
I secret enjoy watching will and grace.

I am married to Janet (she's kinda hot) and we have two cats.
Said too much.
Next!

As you may or may not have guessed, my name is Ron. I sooooo want to be cool, like Matt. I play around town, also. Used to play at a lot of liquor stores. Now, like Sean, I play for drunk people mostly. Sometimes I join them in the partaking of the spirits. Actually, I always join them ;-) . I LOVE smileys. I play an SX Custom strat copy for the sunday nights I go to Cougar's to jam with Sean and Matt and Sam. I go through a Behringer GMX210 V-Tone amp with a built-in FX processor. Most of the time, I play a Jumbo Epiphone acoustic with an LR Baggs active pick-up, which I installed myself. I am currently working on the new law courts building as a carpenter. Which, for those that know me, is a bit of a turn around for me, 8-) . I play for anyone or any place that pays me. I am a music whore. Did I mention that I love smileys? Yeah, I did :-) .
