Schecter Hellcat VI

I know I'm all over the place when it comes to gear lust...I think I must be buy-curious.

Anyway, the latest object of my affection is the Schecter Hellcat VI bass (Baritone? I still see arguments about it, because a baritone is usually tuned down a perfect fifth, whereas the Hellcat (and the Fender VI, which it is mostly based on) is tuned down a whole octave from a guitar). I've read a lot of good reviews on it with respect to it getting that "Cure" sound, and even read that Robert Smith had a lot of input in its design.

While I have a normal 6-string bass already, I usually only ever use the thickest string for a thumb rest, and look forward to playing on the extra high string the Hellcat provides, as well as using its guitar-like neck.

Does anyone here have any experience playing with a Fender VI, or any of its offshoots/variants? Anyone know where I can actually find one in New Brunswick?
