Good Habits for Studying and/or Concentration

Postby Burnsy » Tue Jun 12, 2012 2:15 pm

Taking another quick break, to get some input on people's study habits, or concentration aids while getting a job done. Mind you, I full realize being on the internet and posting in an Audio Forum is not an effective way to study or to concentrate. That being said, maybe you guys have some decent methods to effectively get through the process. Please feel free.....

That being said, when you get to the point where you know that all you are doing is pushing one thing out of your head by pushing another thing in, taking a bit of a break and then digging back in can get your momentum back up.

Windowless rooms without clocks works for casinos. But honestly, don't overdo it. Absorb as much as you can and then take a break when you need to. At least on here you can talk about audio while you are taking a break. :-P

I 'member reading an article/tutorial written by EVH about 25 years ago. His advice was to practice for no longer than 45 minutes without a break of at least 10 minutes or so. One of his suggested activities during the break was "have a smoke". We all know how well that worked out for Eddie, what with him being such a great guitar player and all.

Thanks for the suggestions. This round is complete, and now for a little break. Someone once told me that Einstein slept every 3 hours for 15 minutes, then he'd get up and continue for another 3 hours, with a fifteen minute snooze, and that was how he went about his busy days. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but that is a bit too much for me....or too less sleep anyways. I wonder what people could accomplish if they stayed awake for 22 hours every single day. Hmmm
